Entrepreneurs' Evening 25th February 6.15pm with light refreshments.

Rodney Appiah - Director at Foresight Investment Group -  Rodney spoke at our EE meeting back in January 2018 and we're delighted to welcome him back. He'll be covering the following key themes: Key considerations for growing your business /'Bootstrapping' vs external finding / International growth: When is it right to go global

Rodney is a venture capital investor at Foresight Private Equity, a leading investment firm focusing on earlier stage UK businesses. He has worked with several entrepreneurial companies over the last 11 years and currently sits on the board of a number of high growth businesses, including: Fresh Relevance, Specac and Ollie Quinn. Prior to joining Foresight in 2016, Rodney spent 5 years as an Investment Manager at the Business Growth Fund where he focused on providing minority equity capital to UK SMEs. During his time at the firm, he helped to deliver BGF’s first investment post launch and first full exit to trade following the £114 million sale of Unruly Media to News Corp in 2015. Rodney began his career at Merrill Lynch where, over a five-year period, he closed more than 15 transactions ranging from $50 million to $1.2 billion in size. Rodney graduated from Royal Holloway in 2006 with a BSc in Economics. 

Rodney currently chairs the CBI London Under 35 Committee, which discusses the key challenges facing the UK economy and ensures the views of a broad range of emerging business leaders play an influential role in shaping future CBI policy positions. Rodney also chairs Cornerstone Partners, a 20 partner angel syndicate investing between £25k and £100k into businesses led by Black and diverse founders. 

Rodney is actively involved in the Young Adult Ministry at Action Chapel (Maida Vale), under the pastoral care of Bishop Ben Sallah, and is the founder of Financial Tip Friday (Instagram), a devotional style podcast and blog on matters relating to personal finance.

Ian Tanner

Ian runs a property consultancy based in the City of London specialising in tax advice with clients ranging from Network Rail and Transport for London at one end of the scale to barbers shops and small retail start-ups at the other. How God knits all this together he is not entirely sure but He does!  Ian is a Trustee of A Call to Business and invests in social impact projects both in the UK and overseas.  

He is married to Jayne and has 3 sons and 5 Grand Kids and spends his time between London and Dorset
